Hey Folks! I know, I know it’s been a LONG time since I posted! My apologies!
I wanted to share with you one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. My mom and I watched “The Blind Side” the other night. It was a great flick!
I’m sure you all know the story line, but for those of you who don’t…. it’s based on a true story and is about the life of Michael Oher, a homeless youngster who was taken in by a well-to-do family who helped him fullfil his potential.
In my opinion it was one of Sandra Bullocks best performances and Tim McGraw also did a fine job! I give this movie a 10!
Thoughts on “The Blind Side”? Seen any other good movies lately?
Over the past few weeks I’ve had a chance to catch a couple movies.
The action/thriller “Taken” is number one at the box office right now and with good reason. In the movie Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) gives us his CIA job to be near his daughter. But, when his daughter asks to spend the summer in Paris his worst fears come true when she and her friend are abducted.
This movie is a must see. I give it a 10.
“Gran Torino” starring Clint Eastwood is another good one. It starts off really slow but gets better. Eastwood’s one liners are great. I give it a 7.
If you can’t make it to the theatres “Eagle Eye” starring Shia LaBeouf is out on DVD. It’s about two strangers who are thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they’ve never met. It started off good but ended up being a letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it. I give it a 3.
My mom and I recently went to check out the highly publicized movie “Marley and Me” starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston. Great movie. Owen’s sarcasm kept me laughing and the cute yellow lab Marley just makes you want to go out and get a dog. But, if you’re headed to watch this flick don’t forget to bring your tissue. My mom sure needed some. I don’t want to give the entire movie away but I would recommend checking it out. I give it a 9.
If you would rather stay home and rent a movie I think “Traitor” starring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce is worth watching. An FBI agent heads up the investigation into a dangerous international conspiracy. I give it a 4 1/2.
Last night we rented the movie “The Bucket List”. If you’re looking for a good movie I would suggest this one. Not to sound morbid but after I watched the movie it got me thinking of things I would like to do before I kick the bucket. On my list (these are just a few) skydiving, snowboard down the Swiss Alps, and see all the amazing sites around the world.
Last night we watched “The Great Debaters” starring Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker. The movie’s based on a true story about a debate team at a small all-black East Texas college rising to the top. Much of the movie was filmed at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. I would suggest this movie to anyone looking for something good to watch. I give it an 8.
Tuesday night, we watched “Juno”. It about a high school girl who is battling an unplanned pregnancy. I was a little reluctant to watch it at first. But it ended up being a really good flick. The star of the movie Ellen Page is awesome. She has a real… matter of fact… personality in the movie. For all you guys, the lovely Jennifer Garner also stars in the movie. I give it a 6 1/2.
Have you guys seen the movie “21″starring Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey and Jim Sturgess (hottie)? It’s in movie theaters right now. We watched it last night. Talk about a good movie. It was one of the better ones I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t want to give away the movie but a brillant M.I.T student who needs help paying for college turns to the cards and casinos. I’m not a big gambler but this movie makes me want to jump on a plane and head to Vegas! On a scale 1-10.. I give it a 8!
