There was a bacon festival in Iowa this weekend. Apparently, they served up everything from bacon ice cream to chocolate chunk cookies with bacon. Ugh!
Sound tasty? I don’t know about you, but I think I’m going to stick to just eating bacon with my eggs!
Any big plans today? We’re heading to church and then having an Easter egg hunt at my house for my 3 year old nephew. It looks like our festivities may be moved inside because of rain!
While we’re talking Easter… what’s your favorite Easter candy? Chocolate? Peeps? What?
If you weren’t able to make it out to Tiger Island’s Billy Cannon Day on Saturday don’t worry chrissicoile.com has got you covered!
Marcy and I judged the tailgating contest! It wasn’t easy. I wanted to give all of them 10’s. Congrats to Billy Atkins his grilled stuffed meatloaf was the bomb dot com! Ok, that was a little nerdy, but it was really good!
Anyhow, check out these pictures from the festivities. Lots of LSU fans came out to get Billy Cannon’s, Bert Jones’ and Jack Joberts’ autographs. If you weren’t there you missed out on a good time!
Have you ever cooked something you’re so proud of?
Well, I (with the help of Tommy… aka T-bone… aka the morning show director) cooked homemade lasagna last week and chicken a la keine last night. It turned out to be a really good concoction.
Any special recipes you’ve tried out for the first time and got amazing results?
The other day a friend asked me if I had ever tried chocolate-covered bacon. I said chocolate-covered… what! I eat chocolate for a snack and bacon for breakfast… but NEVER together! Anyone have any weird food combos that you would like to share? What’s the weirdest food you’ve combined to get a great effect?
I recently ate at an awesome restaurant called Mabry House. It’s in a 100 year old Victorian house in Shreveport. We sat in the kitchen at the chef’s table. We were there for at least 3 hours and had 9 different courses. The food was amazing! I don’t know about you but I love to eat! What about you? What are your favorite restaurants? Any unique or horrible experiences?
