This afternoon if you were in Downtown Shreveport you probably saw or heard about this caged naked woman who was protesting the arrival of the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus in Shreveport. Wearing nothing but painted on tiger strips the woman held a sign saying “wild animals don’t belong behind bars.” PETA says elephants and other animals are kept in shackles and tiny cages and beaten in order to force them to perform confusing and physically challenging tricks.
Is this a way to get a point across? Will you still be attending the circus??
Okay, so this may sound crazy but last night at Bunko we were all talking about what kind of dog best describes our significant other. It got me thinking which type of dog best describes me! After a couple hours of thought I decided on a Lab. I mean think about it… they’re outgoing, trustworthy, full of energy and sometimes annoying!! I asked Patrick which dog best describes him and he looked at me like I’m crazy and gave it some thought and said a wolf!!! I thought that was a stupid answer… but whatever! What about you? Which type of dog best describes you and your personality? What about you significant others personality?
If you watched KTBS 3 First News this morning you may have noticed we talked about the heat… over and over again! If we weren’t talking about the temperatures here at home we were talking about the California heat wave. We’re about to have pull out the thesaurus and find different ways to say the word HOT. Our poor new meterologist Marcy Novak can only say it’s hot and it’s going to stay that way so many times in her 2-3 minutes forecast! So let’s help her out… how do you say it’s hot? Any suggestions?
BTW Here’s some video we showed this morning of a skilled lab who kindly took a chihuahua for a ride in Arizona… enjoy!
Remember Nigel? He’s the black poodle who disappeared 16 days ago after storms swept through Shreveport. Guess what… he’s been found. Nigel is now back home with his owner and is safe and sound. A friend contacted Ann Erickson last night and told her a girl found the poodle roaming around in front of a funeral home several blocks from his home.16 days on the streets… wow… that’s a long time.
I have some sad news to pass along to you. Shamrock the severely malnorished dog found last Friday staggering down Faye Street had to be put down. I just got off the phone with Caddo Animal Services they told me they did everything they could to save him but this morning he started having seizures. I’ve been calling to check on poor Shamrock everyday. We all thought he was getting better but they say he just took a turn for the worse. Brandon Daniel at Caddo Animal Services says they’re actively looking for the dogs owner. Everytime I look at this picture it makes me so angry at his owner. I just hope they find him and give him the punishment he deserves. I’ll keep you post.
One thing that really gets under my skin is when people abuse animals and/or children. Did you guys see the story I did about the pit bull who was so malnourished he could barely walk. If not, click here to see the story. That’s just ridiclous! They’re still looking for the owner who starved this poor pooch.
Thoughts?
A fine for this type of crime is up to 6 months behind bars or a $1,000 fine. What type of jail sentence do you think these violators get?
