Hurricane Chris meets state leaders

The Louisiana legislature has been dealing with serious issues… like cuts to health care and higher education, but Wednesday afternoon, on the eve of their adjournment, they took a little time for some rapping.

Shreveport Rep. Barbara Norton, who is the godmother of Hurricane Chris introduced him to some of the state’s leaders… then Hurricane Chris performs part of his hit Halle Berry… She’s Fine.

I couldn’t make this stuff up!

The legislature is being ridiculed on the internet. Some are saying it’s an embarrassment to the state. Whatcha think??

  2. It just makes Louisiana look stupid. I think they should show maturity. This is what we have running our state.

  3. Yes. Ms. Norton is an embarrassment to her district and our area. She is proof of the lack of literacy programs in La public school system. Also, a LOT of adults actually think this music is fine 4 kids of any age, as they r the ones that purchase this vulgar crap 4 their children!

  4. How embarrassing for the state of LA, and to think this is just the tip of the iceburg…look at the direction our whole country is heading…sad to know that many lives were given for this country, just so people could disgrace it.

  5. I am so embarrassed that a “Louisiana representative” would glorify a degrading and horrible rap song during a legislative session. How did this person get elected into office? Is this what we are paying her for? This isn’t star search Ms. Norton… and your godson is not helping anyone. All I can say is… UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  6. One word comes to mind when I see this trash. Louisiana is better than this. I feel sorry for all of the professional individuals that had to sit through that tremendous waste of their time. It’s no wonder racisim still exists in LA!!!

  7. Chris I could not have said it better.

  8. Well Chris & Kelli ya’ll took the approach that really didn’t need to be taken! I agree that, what happened was COMPLETELY horrible…but say that’s why racism still exists? That has nothing to do with racism!! What happened in that clip was complete garbage & I agree with that…so leave it at that! They had the choice to say no its not appropriate for a rapper who was rapping on that subject matter to do that in the HOUSE…or even tell Mrs. Norton that hey we need to know what’s going on before you bring this GARBAGE up here because it WAS NOT the appropriate song to be played here!!! Because IT DEFINITELY WASN’T…and for that guy to say Barbara Norton is fine…IS A FABRICATION BEYOND MEASURE!!!

  10. I think we should all take time out of our every day to do a little rapping. It soothes my soul. It’s like the musical equivalent to warm chicken noodle soup.

  12. When talking to the other members of the house and referfing to the plural of man, did barbara norton actually say the word “mens”. Along with the hurricane chris rap and now the illiterate speaking of a Louisiana elected offical, it really does make Louisiana look stupid.

  13. Barbara Norton is ignorant. All she cares about is Barbara Norton and getting press time. Its embarrassing that she was elected even though she had to run a ton of times before finally winning.

  14. It’s stupid stupid stuff like this that made me keep my drivers licence in Texas… Everyone that approves of this needs to be beaten.

  15. Unbelievable! That’s really the only thing that comes to mind. For those individuals who have not had the opportunity to meet Barbara Norton in person, she introduces herself as “Representative Norton” to everyone she meets. I would call Ms. Norton, sorry Representative Norton an ignorant narcissist, but I don’t think she would understand what I was saying.
