Tigers in Omaha

How bout dem Tigers!?

Yea, I wasn’t impressed by Tuesday night’s game, but man, Monday night’s was awesome!

I’m really liking Mikie Mahtook. He seems down to earth, a great player and he’s from Lafayette! What about you? Who’s your favorite player on this years Tiger baseball team?

Another conversation I was having with some friends last night as we were watching the game is what uniforms were better? The purple or gold. I really liked the gold ones, but if their uniform choice has anything to do with the way they play… they need to stick to the purple ones!!  Which is your favorite?

Anyone want to throw out some guesses on tonight’s final score??

  1. 9-3 The Louisiana State University. My favorite player is Austin Nola. Hes from my hometown and can play “D” like none other. Maddy “Ice” is good too. I would have never thought a kid from Holy Cross could be so good.

  2. LSU’s best pitcher, Anthony Ranaudo, is starting tonight, while Texas sent their best pitcher out there last night. LSU’s offense can’t be expected to stay quiet for as long as they have. I say LSU wins, 7-2.

  3. As an Ole Miss Rebel fan, I didn’t mind that Texas forced a Game 3 so I can watch again tonight. My youngest brother is a big LSU fan, though, so I guess I may pull for the Tigers to win what I hope will be a “nail biter” tonight. I think LSU will probably win by a score of 7-4, however.

  4. HOOK EM HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ranaudo got knocked around on Monday and Texas has our #2 guy Cole Green starting tonight on 5 or 6 days rest.

    Texas 5 LSU 2

  5. I dont believe that Ranaudo played on Monday which means that can be to LSU’s advantage; Coleman started for LSU on Monday. I hope that it is a close game and I would love to watch the Tigers pull out the victory, Geaux Tigers!

  6. Whatta way to close out the historical Rosenblatt Stadium as LSU WINS it’s 6TH CWS championship over the number 1-seeded Texas Longhorns by a score of 11-4!!

While Ranaudo did alright on the mound (though not as good as I had expected), I enjoyed watching Jones at relief and then Coleman closing things out. However, aside from defensive play, it was the hot bats of Jared Mitchell and (your guy Chrissi) Mikie Mahtook that led LSU’s scoring.

Another highlight that I enjoyed was watching Coach Paul Mainieri share the championship victory with his father…very touching!!

Looks as if Gov. Rick Perry will be paying up in Texas BBQ, in order to make good on the wager that he made with Gov. Bobby Jindal (if Texas would’ve won, Gov. Jindal would’ve had to send Gov. Perry some Louisiana seafood…crawfish or shrimp I assume!!).

To family and friends in and around Austin: While I admire the Texas Longhorns athletic programs, there’s no way that I can pull for them when a victory is at the expense of my home state LSU TIGERS!! In saying that, I don’t feel that I’ll be welcomed in that area of the country anytime soon. So, to really twist the dagger in your hearts let me add: “Throw ‘em Down!!”…lol!! No one got “hooked” on this outing; and it looks like Tigers truly enjoy dining on beef…sorry Bevo (Longhorn’s mascot)…lol!!
